Paul D. Hall, 82, passed away on August 3, 2026. Born September 20, 1943, in Celina, TN, Paul later moved to the Nashville area with his family during his elementary school years and graduated from DuPont High School. He lived in Old Hickory, Tennessee, where so much of his life’s steady work and deep roots took hold.
Paul spent his entire professional career in Operations and Management at DuPont in Old Hickory. He approached his work the way he approached life—dependable and straightforward, with a quiet integrity that didn’t need to announce itself to be felt.
Family was everything to Paul. He wasn’t one to rely on big speeches; instead, he showed love in the ways that last—through presence, through follow-through, and through a generosity that extended not only to what he could give, but to how freely he gave it.
Paul was a good cook who genuinely enjoyed preparing a good meal, and time around his table carried the comfort of being cared for. He was an avid hunter who valued doing things the right way, and he passed that respect along to others. Paul loved the outdoors—boating and fishing—and felt most at home on his farm, where the pace of life matched his own steady contentment.
He belonged to the Tennessee Longhunters, a marksman organization, where he was known not only for his loyalty to the people around him, but also for a mischievous streak—especially when it came to playing jokes on fellow members. Even then, there was a warmth to it: a way of keeping friendships close and laughter within reach.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Frances A. Hall, and his mother, Lucille Hall. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 27 years, Jill Hall; sons, Scott Hall and Chris Hall; son, Guy Wagner (Lori); daughter, Kellye Wagner; grandson, Pierce Alexander; granddaughter, Sarah Wagner; and canine companions, "Sam" and "Penny".
