Philip Earnest Tanner age 86, of Mt. Juliet passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024. After high school he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. His family was the center of his life. Philip retired after nearly 40 years of service to Gulf Oil-Chevron. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed fishing. In his free time he enjoyed watching the University of Georgia and the Atlanta Braves.
Mr. Tanner is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Frances Tanner; daughter Joy (Daniel) Wilson and son Tim (Patricia) Tanner; Grandchildren Emily Lara, Andy Lara, Evan Tanner and Jacob Tanner; great grand children Abigail, Josiah, Esther Rose, and Caleb Lara and his brother Steve Tanner.
Mr. Tanner is preceded in death by his parents Luther Lee and Edythe Tanner, three brothers and one sister.
Private family services will be held at a later date. As Mr. Tanner would always say “Bye for now”.
