Rachel was known in her community as an outgoing, loving member of Donelson Church of Christ who started and was director of their kindergarten for 15 years. She also delivered Meals on Wheels and was involved in the Tennessee women’s prison ministry. An avid tennis player, she played in a league until she was in her nineties and was awarded an honorary TSSAA membership for her interest in sports, including that of her four boys.
Rachel was married to Jim for 67 years until his passing in 2012. She is survived by her four sons: Jim (Carol) Bevans; Fred (Kathy) Bevans, Bill (Cindy) Bevans; and Ray (Tammy) Bevans; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Gathering of family and friends from 11:00am until 2:00pm Thursday July 7, 2022 at Donelson Church of Christ 2706 Old Lebanon Pike Nashville. Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00pm also at Church. Burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
