He was born in Marysville, California, to the late Carl and Alma Doehl Lamers. Mr. Lamers retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He also retired from Bellsouth as a switch technician. He enjoyed volunteering at Pioneers for the hearing impaired, playing darts, fishing, hockey, gardening and woodworking. Mr. Lamers set a great example for his family, and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Harvard and Gerald Lamers.
Mr. Lamers is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Shirley Lamers; three daughters, Julia (Andy) Harper, Carol Lamers and Janet (David) White; stepchildren, Terri Lynn (Tim) Johnson and Clarence Ray (Tonya) Bunch; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and sister, Vivian Van Blaricom.
Funeral Services will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Keith Enko officiating. Visitation will be prior from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Retired Military Honors and Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
