Robert "Rob" Adger Addis, 71, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026. He was born August 15, 1955, in Greenville, South Carolina to Charles and Geneva Addis. For the past twenty-nine years, Rob shared his life with his wife, Debbie. He is also survived by his children, Ashley Doyle (Matt) and Thomas Smith; his granddaughters, Piper and Hadley Smith; and his brother, Steve Addis (Amii).
Rob lived his life with a variety of interests including playing guitar, being on the water sailing and relaxing on the pontoon, and recounting many stories from his days as an Eagle Scout. He graduated from DuPont Senior High in 1973, from Memphis State University in 1977, and received his Master's Degree from The University of Tennessee in 1999. He spent many years working as a Contracts Manager at Avco Aerostructures before retiring.
Rob will be remembered for the life he shared with the people he loved. He leaves behind a family that will miss him dearly and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Rob on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with visitation from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, Tennessee. Rob will be laid to rest in a Graveside Service in the Masonic Garden at Hermitage Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM with Pastor Terry Wilkerson, officiating.
