Robert "Bob" James Petty

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a Celebration of Life at 3:00 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home with Brother J.K. Graves officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Petty was born on May 13, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Robert Jerome Petty and Lillian Louise Seagroves Petty. He was the oldest of two siblings, his sister Mary Wesson and brother, Donald Petty, each preceding him in death.

A devout Christian, Mr. Petty attended Lebanon Road Church of Christ where he served as an active deacon. A successful optician, Mr. Petty owned and operated "Bob Petty Optical" for over 30 years in Nashville until his retirement. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lillian Eunice Petty, and daughter Angela (J.K.) Graves; grandchildren, Jon Tyler (Grace) Graves and Alex Hunter (April) Graves; great-grandchildren, Grayson Graves, Bailey Graves, Sawyer Graves, and Florrie Jane Graves. He was known as "Pops" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to spending time with his family, Mr. Petty enjoyed playing golf, supporting the University of Tennessee, the Atlanta Braves, and the Tennessee Titans. Most importantly, Mr. Petty left this world knowing Christ as his Savior and that he loved his family.

Active pallbearers will be; J.K. Graves, Jon Graves, Alex Graves, Mike Marklin, Gary Payne and Bentley Parrish. Honorary pallbearers will be; Larry Hargis, Grayson Graves and Sawyer Graves.
