Robert Harley Springer

Robert (Bob) Harley Springer, aged 80, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025 at home in Lebanon, Tennessee. He was born on August 7, 1945, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to Richard and Lurlene Springer.

Bob was a 1963 graduate of Lawrence County High School. He married Dianne Kitts Springer on January 22, 1972, and spent the next 39 years together until her passing in 2011. He had a successful career beginning as a programmer for Genesco and progressed through Data Systems management with N.L.T., Endata Systems, B.S.I. and finally H.C.A. until his retirement, connecting with people and making lifelong friends along the way.

Bob was very outgoing and loved sharing the gospel and talking about his faith in Jesus Christ. He loved fishing and cherished spending time fishing with his grandson, Logan, and “date nights” with granddaughter, Julianna. He loved taking them both on “big adventures” and was an avid cook and enjoyed preparing gourmet meals as often as he could.

Bob is survived by his two children, Eric Springer and Leslie Hurley, and son-in-law, Bruce Hurley; his brother, Richard A. (and his wife Brenda) Springer Jr.; grandchildren, Logan Garver and Julianna Partinger; and great-grandson, Harley Garver.

Family, friends, and others are invited to the Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138, on December 5, 2025, to reminisce and honor the life of Bob. Visitation begins at 12:30 PM with service to follow at 1:30 PM.
