Ruth A. Staats, age 90, of Old Hickory passed away August 11, 2019.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an exceptional homemaker in her free time she enjoyed traveling in an RV with her husband and gardening.

Ruth is survived by her children Karl Brong and Eleanor (Ricky) Gibbs; granddaughter Lesa (Daniel) Bains and great grandchildren Connor and Braden Hughes and Kendall Bains; beloved nephews Troy and Gary DeHaven.

She was preceded in death by husbands Earl Brong and Dave Staats and her eight siblings.

Visitation will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home Thursday, August 15th from 6:00-8:00pm.

Second visitation will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1003 Hickory Hill Lane, Hermitage on Friday, August 16th from 1:00-2:00pm.

Funeral will begin at 2:00pm at Church, Pastor Keith Enko officiating, burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Staats name may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church 1003 Hickory Hill Lane Hermitage, TN 37076 or Kindred Hospice 750 E Spring Street Ste. B1 Cookeville, TN 38501.

Too many memories to choose. From camping in Florida and traveling with eight bicycles on a pop up camper, to seeing an Elephants in a field after New Years Eve, sharing meals, she always had a smile and a laugh that was her own .
