

Scott Alan Dreher, age 68, of Castalian Springs, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Lisa Barriger Dreher, his children Stacey Chestnut (Jerome) and Justin (Jamielynn), his grandchildren Dominick Markahn, Devon Markahn, Dion Caruthers, Jerome Chestnut Jr., Maleia and Jacob. He is also survived by brothers Stephen (Tammy), Brent (Laura), Bruce, and Joel (Lisa). He is preceded in death by his parents Bobbie Lee and Dorothy Stephenson Dreher and grandparents.
Scott was born in Springfield, Missouri and lived in Springdale, Arkansas and Kalamazoo, Michigan before the family settled in Paducah, Kentucky during his middle school and high school years. Scott attended Lone Oak High School in Paducah, Kentucky where he excelled in basketball and football and graduated in 1974. He played basketball at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, Illinois for two years and finished his BS degree at Murray State University in 1979 where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He married the love of his life and best friend, Lisa Barriger Dreher, on December 30, 1978. They moved to Nashville in 1979 and lived in the Middle Tennessee area ever since.
Scott was employed in various sales and delivery roles before becoming a FedEx Ground contractor and co-owner of Romans Twelve Trucking, Inc. For 8 years, Scott enjoyed working as Mr. Mom and was a full-time stay at home Dad for a time when Stacey and Justin were growing up. Scott was a devoted family man and loved his children unconditionally. He was a loving, fun and playful Grandpa to his grandchildren. He happily retired when he was 62 and enjoyed being Grandpa, camping, traveling and Jeeping.
Scott loved to play and enjoyed spectating sports. He was a huge UK basketball fan and enjoyed cheering for the Nashville Predators and the Detroit Tigers. He was a season ticket holder for the Tennessee Titans for 25 years. He appreciated many different musical genres and was known to break into song at the drop of a hat! Living in Nashville he was able to enjoy many of his favorite musical artists in concert. He loved travel adventures in the motorhome and logged 40,000 miles around the country in the last six years. He was a big fan of the National Parks of which Yellowstone and Zion were two of his favorites. Scott was an active member of Two Rivers Baptist Church for 30 years, and of Hermitage United Methodist Church for 11 years. He joined Northfield Church in Gallatin, Tennessee in 2021 where he served on the parking team and on the Loving Our Neighbors team that serves hot meals every Wednesday morning to the homeless and hungry in Gallatin.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Scott on Saturday, March 8, 2025 with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. at Northfield Church, 2100 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066.
