In 1943 Sydell married Milton Goldhamer. They would go on to have three children. Sydell attended NYU and taught adult education for the Fort Lee, NJ school district for many years. After the loss of her husband Sydell traveled the world. She was also a talented seamstress who copied styles from fashion icons such as Christian Dior with precision. She was a patron of the arts and donated her time and support to many charities.
Sydell is preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband, her son Richard Goldhamer, and her daughter Debra Goodman (Herb). She is survived by her son Marc Goldhamer (Trudy), her grandchildren Melissa Williams (Sean) Tiffany Goldhamer (Ben), and her great-grandchildren Addisyn, Donovan, Leo, and Colton.
Services, conducted by Louis Suburban Chapel, will be held graveside at Riverside Cemetery in Saddle Brook, NJ. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to The Trevor Project.
