

Theodore "Teddy" Currie Weber was born in Somerville, MA to Emmet Christian Weber and Doris Isabelle (Souster) Weber. He spent his childhood years in Chestnut Hill, MA and was a choir boy at Trinity Episcopal Church in Copley Square, Boston, MA. Teddy was a graduate from Edith C. Baker School (Chestnut Hill) and Thompson Academy (Thompson Island, Boston Harbor, MA) in 1959. He was a member of the school band and played the clarinet.
After graduation, his patriotism led him to enroll in the United States Army and served as a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division from 1959-1962 along with his twin brother. Upon returning home from his military services, he worked in construction to help build the Prudential Tower (52 stories) in Boston, MA. In 1962, he married Betty Lucille (Potts) of Nashville, TN. As newlyweds, they initially lived in Watertown, MA and Southborough, MA before moving to Hermitage, TN where they built a home and a beautiful life. In addition to construction, Teddy worked in the transportation field and traveled near and far throughout the United States visiting many states and cities along the way. He took photography classes at Northeastern University (Boston, MA) and University of Tennessee of Nashville (Nashville, TN).
Teddy was a wonderful golfer and loved playing at the Putterham Golf Course (Chestnut Hill, MA) and the Hermitage Golf Course. In addition to golf, he played ice hockey in Nashville, TN into his sixties. His favorite hobby was sailing and could often be found sailing on his aptly named sailboats "Top Gun” (J-24) or his “The Professor" (Catalina 27) at the Percy Priest Yacht Club in Nashville, TN. Every summer, he visited his family in Boston to celebrate the Fourth of July Holiday and his birthday. During these trips, he sailed all along the Charles River and throughout Boston Harbor always with a smile.
Every fall, Teddy and Betty would look forward to spending extended vacations in Gatlinburg, TN. They loved the Smoky Mountains and nature and had a special place in their hearts for the Roaring Fork Baptist Church. An animal lover, Teddy had many dogs over the years including his beloved Blitz and Frida. Additionally, he was a Shriner and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Nashville, TN. Teddy was a kind person and a friend to all that met him. He will be remembered for his knack to tell stories which was welcomed by all.
Teddy was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty. His loving family members include his brothers: his twin, William Weber (predeceased) and Alfred Weber; sisters: Marcia Weber and Donna (John) Carr; nieces: Tammie (Nels) Howalt and sons (Cy & Jensen), Christine Mahoney and daughters (Kitt & Mia), Tasha Hoover, Jennifer Sheytanian (Mark), and son, Drew; nephews: Sean Mahoney, Sean Weber, Troy Nicoletti; as well as many extended family members.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends at Hermitage Funeral Home Friday, July 5, 2024, from 12:00 PM 0 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM with Dr. Jud Hays officiating. Following the service, Teddy will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Cross at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
