He was a kind loving man who was loved and will be missed by many. He worked in Ground Service for American Airlines for 32 years and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed model aviation in his free time.
He is survived by his sons; Tommy (Leslie) Pewitt Jr. and Michael (Donna) Pewitt; Grandchildren Trey (Shelby) Pewitt, Katelyn (Brandon) Huckaby, Amanda (Mekiah) Jack, Matthew Pewitt and great granddaughter Madelyn Huckaby; Sister Shirley (James) Scott. As well as many nieces and nephews
Mr. Pewitt is preceded in death by his loving wife Martha Louise Pewitt; daughter Rosie Christine Pewitt, parents Jeff (Erma) Pewitt and Grace Halmontaller; sister Sarah “Sally” Fleming.
Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers JT and Martha Baker, American Airlines Ground Service Crew and Friends at Cracker Barrel on Stewarts Ferry Pike.
Gathering of family and friends Wednesday August 28th from 4:00-8:00pm at Hermitage Funeral Home, also on Thursday August 29th from 10:00-11:00am at Hermitage Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00am in the chapel. Dale Lindsey will officiate. Burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. Pewitt’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Cancer Society.
