Verlon Ray Calhoun
April 29, 1927 – August 30, 2019
Verlon Ray Calhoun age 92, of Nashville passed away August 30, 2019.He was born in Oklahoma, raised in Arkansas and moved to California as a young man. He joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Texas. In 1947 he married his loving wife of 65 years Clara Calhoun. She was the center of his life. Mr. Calhoun was a plant manager for Rheem Manufacturing for 45 years. In retirement he enjoyed golf daily. He will be remembered as a loving and generous Father and Poppy. He is survived by his daughters Janice (Nicholas) Passomato and Deborah (Gary) Zauf. Granddaughters Stacey (Ross) Parnell and Katharine (Fred) Steele, Leslie (Jon) DeRose and Julie (Dave) Williams. Great grandchildren Allie Steele, Jackson Parnell, Clare, DeRose, Tyler Steele, Zoey Steele, Lucy DeRose and Luke Williams, many nieces and nephews. Mr. Calhoun is preceded in death by his wife Clara Calhoun. Gathering of family and friends Thursday September 5, 2019 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 11:00-1:00pm Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00pm. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
