Virginia Ann Kossa, a woman of rare kindness and one of the biggest hearts a person could ever have, passed away on July 5, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves behind a family who felt her love every single day.
Virginia moved through the world gently. She was kind and sweet by nature, with a soft, giving spirit that made everyone around her feel cared for and safe. She had a way of putting others first, quietly noticing what you needed and making sure you had it, never asking for anything in return. Her sons knew this better than anyone. She gave to them endlessly, holding nothing back, and her love was a steady and constant presence in their lives.
She spent her working life as a caregiver, a calling that fit her heart perfectly. Looking after others wasn't just what she did, it was who she was. In her free time she loved to travel and see new places, but her greatest joy was always found closer to home, in being a mother and a grandmother. Nothing lit her up like her family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Charles Castleman; her mothers, Rita Castleman and Betty Castleman; and her beloved husband, Steve Kossa.
She is survived by her sons, Chris (Samantha) Jaskulski and Jeremiah (Brenda) Jaskulski; and her cherished grandsons, Jayden, Blake, and C.J., three boys who held the very center of her heart.
Those who knew Virginia will remember her gentleness, her generosity, and the warmth she gave so freely. Hers was a heart that made room for everyone, and the world was softer for having her in it.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Tulip Grove room at Hermitage Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
