

Wanda, the Valedictorian and 1960 graduate of McMinville Central High School, was a Christian and member of the Donelson church of Christ. She graduated in 1964 from Tennessee Tech University with honors and a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school at JMA Military Academy in Baxter, TN, and DuPont in Old Hickory, TN.
Wanda was an avid letter writer and one who sent many cards of encouragement to those who were sick, hospitalized, or who had especially good Bible lesson presentations. She loved to attend worship services where she could add her voice to sing praises to the Lord with the old hymns and participate in the other activities of worship. She loved her family deeply in word and deed.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, J.G. and Maurine Green Rogers. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Patrick Alexander; her daughter Carmen Alexander Jenkins; beloved grandson Adam Patrick Jenkins (Abby); great-grandson Jasper Patrick Jenkins; sister Linda Curtis (James); sister-in-law Peggy Flem Alexander; and nieces Lisa Curtis, Christy Davis, Beth Dickinson, Amy Borcher, and Erin Alexander.
There were will be a Gathering of Family & Friends Monday, June 13, 2022 from 4pm – 7pm and Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 10am – 2pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin in the Tulip Grove Room at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2pm, officiated by Robert Hendren, Frank Batson, and Russ King. Friends will serve as pallbearers. Following the Celebration of Life, Wanda will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Apostles at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
