The first time I had cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving was at Jeanny’s. I have gone from hmm, not too sure about this to Thanksgiving wouldn’t be the same without it! She loved angels and has sent me all kinds of angel figurines over the years. She took more pictures than anyone I ever knew and organized them . It just goes to show her love for life and family and friends. She was a joy to be around and I was blessed to have her in my life.

My favorite memory, is one of the many family movie nights we had at her house. 20 years ago I still remember. Tube TV. VHS. Her Favorite movie was “The Mask of Zorro” (1998) She explained the plot to us before we watched it. Put the tape in. And then described the plot while we all watched it and kept getting up to get us more sodas and popcorn all while talking about the movie that we were watching. JUST SPREADING JOY! Making sure that everyone in her vicinity is happy. Thank you dear friend. 

My friend, Wanda was a woman of faith, hope, and generous love. She cherished her boys and the wives and children as they were added. Her siblings were her rock because of their shared early life and challenges. She always remembered you mother's sacrifices. Her niece s and nephews were always close to her heart. She loved her family.
My friend, Wanda was ready for an adventure. We did many things over the years. Titans game in their first year in the stadium,  United Methodist Women at Dodson Chapel, Predators games, Pow Wows, road trips, governor's mansion at Christmas,  church lunches and celebrations,  lunch bunch, skipbo  parties, surgeries, cancer, organ transplants, concerts,  marriages, gifts to new babies, flowers for bereaved,  church cookbook (which proved the strength of our bond), and much more always laughing and having fun.   I will have to take a raincheck on this year's birthday dessert but we will enjoy it someday in a better world.
Wanda was generous at Christmas which was her favorite time. If you knew Wanda, you got a gift. She gave of herself to be sure that no one went  without a Christmas gift. This was her Christmas joy!! 
Her faith to God and service to others were tenants of her life. She served in any way she was needed including Dodson Chapel UMC historian and photographer.
We carry her legacy of love forward as we meet the challenges of this life with courage as she did.

Aunt Jeanny was a profound part of my childhood memories. I remember looking forward to visiting her on Thanksgivings and getting presents from her every year at Christmas (Sometimes giggling at the expected tube socks). As an adult we loved getting her annual Christmas cards with the regular updates about her and her family in Tennessee. She had so much love for us and was a prayer warrior as I struggled with Leukemia towards the end of my Navy Journey. I wish we had been able to spend some time more recently, but I know that is always how these things go. I love you so much Aunt Jeanny and cannot wait to see you again in heaven.
