I worked with Slick at the Powerhouse for several years. He could be a little gruff at times but underneath was a heart of gold. He will be missed.          Neal "Bubba" Hancock

Wayne "Slick" Woodard, a true gentleman. I will always remember him as a true friend, wonderful employee and a family man. The stories that he shared with me were priceless and I will always cherish them. His family meant the world to him. He always said he was the luckiest man in the world to be married to the BEST WOMAN, who gave him the greatest blessings, his children. When I got engaged he told me that if he didn't treat me right to let him know, that meant a lot to me and he knew it. I will miss you my dear friend. Love and Prayers to the Woodard Family.

Slick was a good friend and co-worker. We worked several jobs together. I will miss him.

Sure will miss Slick, one of the sweetest people I have known. I certainly will miss working with him.

Wayne was named Vernon after his daddy and thus the nickname Slick as well. We childhood pals and spent many summer days playing cards, pitching horseshoes and playing croquet with Robert Flemming who lived across the street. I remember Mrs Woodard working at Andrew Jackson school. My sympathies reach out across the way to all of you. Sorry I cant be there but will be thinking of you .  He will be missed.  Blessings

I never knew his name was Wayne until I knew him almost a year.To me he was"" slick"", a very sweet scoundrel full of innocent shenanigans and ultimate wisdom who gave me answers to things in ways that I could understand and get the picture.He loved dearly his wife and family and was so proud to have his wife ...Mrs patty....his eyes glistened and he smiled when he spoke of her , u could tell he was full of pride for her and their love. Slick was proud, simple, eloquent,adored and adoring and a most wonderful friend to me .He was just plain ""SLICK""and he will always be in my minds hearing ,,, I will always remember that voice and the gentleness he showed to those of us lucky enough to be his friend. Thank you for sharing him Mrs patty,,god watch and hold you , listen,, and thru subtle noises u will hear him,, smell,, and every now and again his scent will drift past you,,, songs will remind you of life's decades and songs of praise will keep you strong and uplifted. You have an awesome opportunity right now to lean on friends and your kids,, take them up on it ,, don't always try to be the strong one ,, us moms need a boost to and slick will enjoy seeing his kids and friends stepping up to keep you whole,, god is love,, slick was love ,, allow them both to watch over u .

Wayne was more like a brother to me than a brother in law. Now that he rests and rejoices in the arms of our Jesus he will so very much be missed by us left behind. The serious looks he sometimes gave us and his generous heart that he always shared. The wonderful life he made for my sister and their children I thank God Wayne was a part of my life. To My Precious Sister, nephew and nieces, Mickey, Crystal, Jennifer. I know your hearts are broken and the tears are many, but,Slick has passed over to be with his Heavenly Father and what a homecoming I'm sure they are having!
