Willard Spurgeon Hughes, age 82, passed away December 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy Spurgeon and Ila Leona (Mullins) Hughes; sisters, Rajean Hughes Dodrill and Geraldine Hughes Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nalene Hughes; son and daughter-in-law, W. Bryson and Donna Campbell Hughes of Murfreesboro; daughter, Jalana Hughes Trent of Donelson. Grandchildren, Kit B. Hughes, John C. Hughes, Sharah B. Hughes, Isaac D. Hughes and wife Destiny Jones Hughes, C. Benjamin Trent and Laura Elizabeth Trent; great-grandson, Kylin Isaac Hughes; sister, Leona Ila Hughes and brother, Bland Edward Hughes; many nieces and nephews in Texas and Tennessee.
Willard was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from the Avco Cooperation in Nashville, TN after working there for many years in the Security Division as well as in Fire Safety as Division Fire Marshal.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at crypt side 1:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN.
