Randy was born in Nashville, TN on March 5, 1947, to Gertrude and J.T. Ingram. He graduated from Isaac Litton High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. He developed many close, lifelong relationships with teammates and coaches and enjoyed reminiscing about those glory days. He was a devout Big Orange fan and during his daughter’s time as a University of Tennessee cheerleader he became an expert “cheer dad”. He worked many years in the distributing industry, including Ajax Turner Company and Beaman Bottling Company. Randy never met a stranger, and with his witty one-liners and jokes (both appropriate and inappropriate), he loved to make others laugh. He was a great cook and made the best skillet cornbread you’ve ever eaten. He was an animal lover through and through, and had a special place in his heart for any dog.
Randy is predeceased by his parents and his loving wife of 41 years, Karen.
He is survived by his daughter Kimberly McCabe (Michael), who he loved more than can be expressed, two grandsons Lucas and Colin, Commodore-loving brother Charlie, adoring sister-in-law Leona, and “The Boys”, his cherished Yorkshire Terriers, Zach and Fonzie.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 26th, from 12-1:30pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens with graveside services to follow at 1:30 pm.
Memorials may be made to the ASPCA or Love at First Sight Pet Adoption Center, 4423 Murphy Road, Nashville, TN 37209.
