Alessandra Condict

She was the wife of Stephen H. Condict, III, who predeceased her in 1984.

She is survived by her children, Caroline Ronchini, son Stephen H Condict IV and grandchildren Federica Christopher and her two great-grandchildren Caden and Katya.

She was an active member of the Yugoslav partisans and met her husband shortly after the end of World War II. She married him in Gorizia, Italy in 1946 and followed him around the world during his Army career, residing in Japan and Austria. After his last posting to Hawaii, she moved with her family to Florence, Italy and then to Rome, living there nine wonderful years before moving back to the U.S..

She lived in Old Lyme but continued to travel extensively in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean.

She was an active Red Cross volunteer for many years at the Naval Hospital in Groton, CT and was a longtime member of the Old Lyme Beach Club.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Florence Griswold Museum, 96 Lyme St, Old Lyme, CT 06371.
