Mrs. Lowery was born on October 19, 1925 in Nanking, China to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wu. Her father was the Commissioner of Chinese Maritime Customs Service in Nanking under Chiang Kai Shek.
Mrs. Lowery graduated from Utopia University in Shanghai. In 1959, she married James Lowery Jr., an Episcopalian minister.
Mrs. Lowery is survived by her daughter, Monique and her husband Eric Foster of Old Lyme, CT and two grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Ann's Church in Old Lyme.
