

Old Lyme, CT – Constance Demis Knauff, 88, passed away on October 30, 2025, in Old Lyme Connecticut. Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Knauff. She leaves three children: Anne E. Knauff, Gretchen Knauff and Robert Knauff (Laura); three grandchildren: Elisabeth Dockter (Michael), Daniel Knauff (Ashley) and Samuel Knauff; and one great grandchild, Theodore Dockter.
Born to Michael and Helen Weronick Demis, Connie was raised in Norwich Connecticut and graduated from Norwich Free Academy. She met her husband while she was a student at Bryn Mawr College. They were married in 1958 and spent their early years together living as a Coast Guard family in New York, Ohio, Indiana, and eventually settling back in Connecticut.
Connie’s creativity and love of crafting led her to co-own The Creative Touch, an arts and crafts supply store in Niantic, CT. She loved to travel and visit different countries. She was an avid reader and could always be counted on for a good book suggestion. Connie enjoyed the challenge of the Sunday crossword and there was always a jigsaw puzzle on the table. Connie will be remembered for her independent spirit, love for her family, event planning skills, and generosity for others.
Burial services will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shoreline Soup Kitchen and Pantries in Essex Connecticut.
