Dear Maria, Tony and Henry,
Can you imagine our two mothers at the kitchen table; catching up on the news about what the kids are each doing, stirring soup on the stove, cutting out material for a summer dress, laughing at a shared story, yelling at Henry or yelling at Gerry and waiting for the husbands to come and eat? Everyday ordinary stuff that these two women made extraordinary for all of us.
I am so sorry for your great loss. Your mother and all of you and your children are in my prayers, thoughts and heart.
love, cousin Cheryl

Henry,Maria and Tony Your Mom was such a loving and caring person that made an impact and left a legacy of which she was so proud. My Mom ,children and I would eagerly awate our annual summertime visits to the beach house and Madrinha would always bake her special apple cake in anticipation of our arrival. Our Moms would converse in Portuguese and truly enjoy each others companionship while the kids and I would go down to the beach and search for conch and such.I also remember my childhood visits to your home in Hartford and your Mom would measure me and I would have a new dress before I left for home!Ive still got the yellow sun dress she made me when I was seven years old.She also made my wedding dress with such ease, precision and most of all with adoring love sewn into every seam and button.I am very proud to have been able to call her my Madrinha and will always have a special place in my heart {and closet!} I am certain our Moms are sharing each others company in heaven and some great stories as well.Theyve got a lot of catching up to do and all of eternity to do so! I feel as if we have two more angels watching over us and will protect and guide us through this life until we are reunited again someday.Take care of yourselves and "Dont do anything that wouldn't make your Mom proud" is the motto i follow and instill in my children.Try works for free!

Maria, Melissa, and Emily,

My sincerest sympathy in the passing of your beloved Mother/Avo'. Filomena was such a caring and lovely woman and I was happy to have been part of her extended family over the years. Many sweet memories of holidays and visits at the beach with her remain; her Portuguese fish dishes, wonderful soups, and homemade bread always made our meals special. It was difficult to watch her slip further into illness these past several years for all of us, but particularly for you, Maria, her faithful daughter who took such good care of her and stood by her side to the very end. Filomena will be greatly missed; may she rest in peace in heaven.

Love always, Marci Tedone Limberger
