

Born on January 22, 1922, he was the son of Raymond F. and Margaret Clark King. He was born, raised, and lived most of his life in Old Lyme. He was the last living graduate of the first graduating class of Center School in 1940. He was an avid guitar player and lover of country music.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945. After the military service he played professional baseball with the Chicago White Sox organization from 1946-1948. He was a pitcher for the Madisonville Miners in Kentucky and the Waterloo White Hawks in Iowa. While in Madisonville he met and married the love of his life, Marion Doris Pidcock.
He retired from Pfizer, Inc. after working there for 30 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children: Raymond Scott King and wife Coralie of Shelton, CT; John T. King and wife Joanne of Lebanon, NH; JoAnn Wright and husband Charles of Old Lyme; Andrew G. King and wife Kathy of Old Lyme; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret Bond.
