

John Malcolm Warren II of Old Lyme, CT passed peacefully at his home on Johnny Cake Hill Road the evening of Monday, March 9th, 2026 with family and friends. He was a very proud Veteran of the United States Army who served during the Second World War. Afterward he worked for the Boston-Maine railroad Co. driving buses, went to college, and then had a long career at Electric Boat where he worked until his retirement on March 30th, 1984. He had a lifelong passion for boating and was a longtime member of the Hamburg Cove Yacht Club with his wife, Agnes “Bunny” Warren, and good friend Doug Ahlberg. John was a family man through and through and loved nothing more than time with his loved ones.
John was predeceased by his parents, John Malcolm Warren and Emilie Dragon-Warren, his brother Robert Warren, his sister Marilyn Warren, his daughter Sarah E. “Sally” Warren, and his wife, Bunny, of 78 years. He is survived by his sister Joyce Toli of New Hampshire, many nieces and nephews, his son Michael Warren of Florida, and his daughter Marilyn M. Warren of Lyme, CT; his grandchildren Brett Christian Warren and his wife Alison Warren of Florida, Erin Cathlin Warren and her husband Morgan Mikel of Texas, and Michael-Patrick Warren and his wife Katherine Ryan Donnelly of Connecticut; his great-grandchildren Camryn Mikel, Mariah Mikel, Walker Mikel, Chance Mikel, Andrew Warren, Tyler Warren, and Madelyn Schefers; and his great-great-grandson Malcolm Mikel.
He will be interred at Duck River Cemetery in Old Lyme this summer with his wife Bunny and his daughter Sally.
