Old Lyme – John Wilkinson, 82, passed away 31 October 2026. John was born March 7, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York., the son of Lionel E. and Mary {Crowe} Wilkinson. John was predeceased by his son Thomas Michael. He is survived by his wife Pauline {Marie} of 53 years, son Richard and his wife Carmen and grandchildren Lilymae, Kyle, Kote’ and wife Aubree parents to twin great grandchildren Maeve and Rowan.
Upon graduating from the New York School of Printing in 1962 John enlisted in the navy and completed 20 years in the submarine service retiring as a chief. After the navy he spent the next 20 years working for the State of Connecticut Department of Correction retiring as a Training Officer. John was a member of the American Legion Post 41 and later Post 128 Niantic for 43 years. He was also a member of The Sea Notes Barbershop Chorus for 35 years.
