In loving memory of Justin Potts, who departed this life on October 30, 2026. Born on January 9, 1987, in New London, Connecticut, Justin was the beloved son of William and Susan Potts. He was a cherished brother to Lindsey Potts, who survives him. His aunt, Amee Card and his uncle, Jason Potts survive him as well. Justin was predeceased by his grandparents, William Potts Jr., Ruth Jeanette (Jean) Potts, Virginia Card, and Richard Card, who have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the eternal embrace.
Justin's life was one marked by an appreciation of others. He enjoyed working as a barista at the Green Marble Coffee Shop in Mystic, Connecticut. It was a place where he could craft a beverage, share his quick wit and socialize with people. Justin graduated from East Lyme High School in 2005.
Justin enjoyed photography, capturing subjects in unique ways. He found artistry in the craftsmanship of knives, which he collected for their beauty and singularity. He was a fan of Batman and collected Batman memorabilia. He had an appreciation for books and music and collected them from all genres.
Justin was a generous and compassionate person, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether they were a lifelong friend or a stranger he had just met. His kindness and the joy he brought to others were among his most remarkable qualities, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His vibrant sense of humor made him quick friends with everyone he met, and he often left the room a brighter place filled with laughter.
Justin loved and enjoyed animals. He adopted a ferret, Max, from the Humane Society and they had a special bond. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, located in Newington, CT. This gesture would honor his life and continue his legacy of kindness and compassion.
Though his time with us was far too short, Justin's spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May we find solace in the memories we shared with him and the love that will forever remain.
