Lisa was born on July 16, 1975 in Hartford, the daughter of William and Jeanne (Martin) Kadlec. Lisa was a graduate of Mercy High School class of 1993. After high school she spent two years at Eastern studying as an English major, following her immense love of literature. As time went on, Lisa found her true passion, caring for others. Lisa immediately studied to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Norwich Vocational Technical School. Lisa grew beautifully into her nursing career and had high hopes and dreams for where this would take her. She envisioned a career in hospice end of life care, because her love and compassion for her patients was so deep she wanted to assure they were taken care of until the very end. Due to medical conditions and the birth of her baby girl, those dreams for her career had to be pushed aside. Though, a different dream for Lisa did come true, being a mother. Lisa often referred to her daughter as her miracle girl, as the two of them would always be a team. She was a wonderful single mother, ready to go to war for her daughter, Evelyn, if ever necessary. Lisa was the most loving, empathizing woman, always there to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. Lisa loved to spend her days in the garden, reading a book or watching her favorite show. Her love of flowers was contagious, always trying to snip a clipping off of a plant she thought was pretty to grow at home. Lisa’s warm heart, contagious laugh and smile will forever be remembered.
Lisa is survived by her daughter Evelyn Winters, parents William and Jeanne Kadlec, Brother William Kadlec.
