Margaret Ann Meinke

Margaret (Peg) Meinke, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at the age of 94 at Ocean Meadow Senior Living and Memory Care in Clinton, CT. Born in Oceanside, NY on May 11, 1930, Peg was known for her vibrant spirit and unwavering commitment to her family.

She met her late husband Howard on the North Fork of Long Island during joyful summer days in Cutchogue and Mattituck. The couple later settled in Trumbull, CT, where they operated a home building business. As the CFO, Peg managed the company with strength and determination while raising their family.

Each summer Peg returned to the North Fork where cherished memories were made on beautiful Peconic Bay surrounded by dear friends. Active members of Mattituck Club, Peg and her family enjoyed sailing adventures, creek-puttering on their outboard, and exploring the dunes, ocean, and inlet. In later years, Peg and Howard enjoyed sailing on bareboat charters and spending winters in Florida where they played golf.

Peg is survived by her children Jeff and his wife Nancy, Nancy Morrell, and Jan Dunbar, along with her eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

No formal services are planned. Instead, a family gathering will take place in July to reunite her with Howard and celebrate the life they shared.
