I was reminded of Maureen last night when having dinner with another resident of the retirement community where I now live.  We talked of our time in Lucknow (early 1960's), though we didn't know each other then.  Conversation moved to Univ. of Chicago, where his wife was a student.  We were there at different times as well, but compared notes about names we remembered.  One was Maureen, who was a good friend to me and my then husband, Paul Brass.  Among other kindnesses, Maureen lent us $4,000  so we could buy a car to drive to Seattle, where Paul got a job at the Univ. of Washington.  Linda Gould - took back my maiden name in 1978.
