

Mr. Emerson was born on November 18, 1925 in New London the son of George and Mary (McDonald) Emerson. He honorably served our country in the US Navy through three wars, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a proud member of the American Legion, VFW, The Old Lyme Grange, Old Lyme Fire Department, Old Lyme Ambulance Assoc., and served as a National Chaplin for the National Camping and Traveler's. Also a Master Mason and a member of the Shriner's.
Mr. Emerson is predeceased by his wife Jessie (Stanton). He is survived by his daughter Ellen (Kevin) Geil of CA, step daughters Faith (Spring) Haselberger of FL and Susan (Spring) Compton of FL, brother Donald Emerson of CA and sister Marilyn (John Gillings) Emerson of NJ. Also survived by grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He leaves many nieces and nephews which he care for deeply. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Christine Emerson for the love and care of Norm.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00am in Duck River Cemetery, McCurdy Rd., Old Lyme. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00am in South Lyme Fire Station, Cross Rd, Old Lyme. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Old Lyme is handling the arrangements.
