Dearest Andrew:

I am saddened to hear of your father, Phil's passing. He had such exuberance for life ! I am sorry I will not share another glass of his beloved champagne over-looking the lake but will toast him (and Ted) for the wonderful impact he made on this world.

I had the pleasure of meeting your dad not too long ago. But in the brief moment that I met him, he imparted nothing but kindness and great wisdom.

He spoke only of how wonderful was to have you in his life and how much he wanted to share the story of your birth with the world. He had the tenacity and means to write every part of your family journey in a manuscript. who he kept closely guarded. We had great plans to share this memory with the world in the means of a book. I hope you will consider it.

My heart is with you in these hard moments.

We were close friends in Stratford and shared so much in our lives as educators and friends. We were part of their world in Old Lyme and as parents of their son and fun time in rural Connecticut, The world has lost two (Ted) and Phil who were always exciting and interesting to be with and had very big hearts,

I had the great pleasure of being a friend of Phil Devine. A very bright man with a passion for teaching and the theater. He loved life and the family around him. He will be missed!

I got the honor of meeting Phil a couple of years ago and visited him many times in Old Lyme and once in NYC. Phil was an amazing guy, who touched the lives of many people. He talked about Ted and Andrew with the upmost admiration and loved them more than I thought one could ever love someone else. Over the past couple years I really got to know him and he became a great friend of mine, as well as Billie. I have a ton of great memories of him that I will forever cherish. I'm beyond saddened to hear of his passing and he will truly be missed. Now he can be reunited with the love of his life. My thoughts go out to his family, and I hope you can find peace during the difficult time.

Sincerest condolences on the loss of your brother Phil. We met many years ago, when as a high school student he was so bright and full of positive energy and possibility, humor and life. Although we lost touch, I'm quite certain that never changed. I will always remember him as the very Best Man. May his memory serve to comfort you at this very sad time. Rest in Paradise, Phil.

I had the pleasure of meeting Phil and Miss Billie only once but both left a lasting impression. Phil's warm smile, his charm and charisma was so refreshing in this atmosphere we currently live in. I am so sorry for your loss.
