OBITUARY

Robert Leonard Machol

October 12, 1988June 10, 2020

“Bobby” Machol, 31, succumbed to his demons on June 10th, 2020. He was born October 12th, 1988 to Lenny Machol and Mary Liz Florin, and was named after every male figure in his family. Bobby was born with a curious mind, that stuck with him his whole life. Always had a thirst for an intellectual conversation, and to learn something new. He loved anything outdoors; hiking, crabbing, camping, live music, or just a fire surrounded by friends; he was employed as a landscaper. With his one of a kind humor & constant sarcasm, there wasn’t a person he met that disliked him. Always the life of the party, he loved to bring people together, even in the afterlife. Often portrayed as “being difficult”, he was always the first to offer what he had to those who needed it. The shirt off his back, a heart-to-heart, or just his company. Bob had a gentle, but troubled soul, and will be terribly missed by all who had the pleasure to meet him. Aside from his parents, Bobby is survived by his sister Katie & his soon-to-be nephew, whom he was excited to be an uncle to. Aunts & Uncles; Bob & Karen Florin, Kathleen Emerson, Trish Florin & Kenny Emerson. Bev & Clint Ryon, Dennis & Jan Machol, Peggy & Lou Fregeau. Cousins Josh D'Lizarraga, Cristine Emerson, Jason Mazzella, TJ & Amirah. Christopher, Michael, Lisa, Scott, Cindy, Tracy & Julie. And countless friends, who he considered his family. He is predeceased by his grandparents Bob & Dolly Florin, Bob & Mimi Machol and his Uncle Dean Emerson. His best friends Jeremy Wilcox, Riley Ryan and his cat Bullet. “One with the raging wind, alive on the highest tides, my ship at sail can climb a mountain, ride it to the sky.” Due to the virus, burial will be private at the discretion of the family. A celebration of life will be planned for his birthday in October. Please visit www.fultontherouxoldlyme.com for tributes and updated service information.

Bob.... kills me to know your gone... you saved me when we were younger, took me under your wing and got me sober. I truly wouldn’t be alive today or have my beautiful daughter, wife, cars, anything without your help. I miss the debates about politics you even opened my eyes to trump of all things... I’ll miss you buddy, and my heart goes out to your family during this time. Forever missed but never forgotten...EVER

Heartbroken to have lost a cousin so young, but hoping he is at peace. Bobby was the one who could always make me laugh and his smile, it just made you smile back. Bobby will always be in my memories and forever in my heart. I will never forget the snow storm when Bobby came knocking at my door late one night and was covered in snow. He ran out of gas in his car; thought he’d make it to a gas station, but didn’t. Grateful to have been there to help.
Love you Bobby!

Bobby was my buddy! We would have sleep over and listen to Music until the sun came up. He made me laugh all the time, and was one of the sweetest, guys I know. I will always care for him and I miss him so much already. I had just spoken to him a few days before this. Im sorry i wasnt around more, my friend.
Love you forever and always

Sending my condolences and love. Although I had never met Bobby, I’ve known Bev and Lenny for 40 plus years. I’m heartbroken for your family. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.

I’ll never forget the day that Katie was born as it was a day we babysat for Bobby at the beach. He came with his aunts and other cousins to share a hot day playing in the sun. I always liked how he and I shared the “Machol” name as it was our dads who were brothers. When I got married and changed my name I always took solace in knowing he’d carry on the family name. Now I know it goes with him. For all of those silly cousin pictures at Grandma Machol’s house on the infamous holidays you had to pose for with all of your “older” cousins, rest assured we’ll always remember the little one was you.
