Rosalie Kichline

March 28, 1942November 5, 2018

Rosalie (Ro, Kitch, Nonnie, Aunt Kitch) Kichline joined our Angels Above. Born Rosalie Lynn Kichline on March 28, 1942, the daughter of Francis (Fran) Gilman Kichline and Reginald (Rex) Kichline. Born March 28, 1942 on her mother’s birthday. Committed to her loving spouse Kathryn McNally of 43 years on March 28, 1975 with a legal ceremony on June 9, 2006. So many years too few days. Rosalie worked most of her life at the Norwich State Hospital and The Functional Arm Physical Therapy office. Besides Kathryn, Rosalie is survived by a brother, James Kichline, and wife, Rosemarie, sister, Marilee Virginia Jones and husband, Sidney, step-sister, Maryellen (Corky) Currier and family, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sally and Richard Harrelle, brother-in-law James McNally and Shirley, nephews, Christopher (Chris) Jones and wife, Tara, James McNally and wife, Corinna, David Pollard and wife, Kimberly (Kim), nieces, April McNally Day and husband, James, Amy Weidner and husband, Matt, Angela Langlais, God daughter and husband, Matt, great nephews, Julian (Ju- Ju), Jacob (Jake), Brayden, Gavin, Ryan and James (Lt. Jimmy, Jimmy) McNally and Skyla, great nieces, Skyler (Sky), Mila (Mimi), Amber McNally and Randall Suggs, great great nephews, Myles Suggs (who gave her miles of smiles from Myles) and many cousins. Pre-deceased by her mother, Francis and Father, Reginald Kichline, Brother Richard (Dicky, Kich) Kichline and adored niece, Kelly Kichline and special person, Crystal Priego. Ro (Miss Ro) is also survived by special family, Enrique (Ricky), Alexis (Lexi Lu), Miakoda Rain, Priego and Michael and Nathan, special Aunt Millie and family. Kitch is also survived by the extended Olivia Family who Kathryn (Kathy & Kitch) acquired in abundance through their extensive travels and many friends who loved her dearly. Every generation of children made her happy and put many smiles on her face. Rosalie loved her family and friends, to travel, read, fish, boating, crafts, gardening, to feed and watch the birds, swing with Sky along with numerous other things. She had a zest for life and adventure, although coming off as meek and quiet. The passion she shared with her dancing and knowing all the words to the songs astonished young and old. Her heart and soul is full and will live on in most as she made a mark on life and lived it to her fullest. Never giving up and fighting her courageous battles in silence. She is the strongest person I know. Many a persons Shero never giving up and living with her illnesses throughout the years. Always reaching for another day and thriving on the next adventure. She now begins a new journey without illness, pain and suffering. Possibly doing the Jitterbug again as that was a little hard to do while dancing in her wheelchair. So take that journey for I am with you always. You are loved and missed by many. Walk, Dance, Sing, Yell at the top of your lungs, for you have it all back again so we have been told. Most of all continue to smile that beautiful smile you have always had. Nothing was able to take that away. Fly high and low without pain wherever you go. Go in peace and love. You will always be with me until we meet and journey together again. All of me all the time. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 2:00 until 9:00pm in the Sprague Rod and Gun Club, 90 Bushnell Hollow Rd., Baltic, CT 06330. Let's have a good old Pot Luck. Bring a dish if you wish, let's just Celebrate Kitch. Come and Celebrate the way Kitch would. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Old Lyme is handling the arrangements. Kitch lived life to the fullest. We saw that on every trip she was on. Kathy, you are the reason she could enjoy it as much as she did. You now have an angel on your shoulder - and I bet she will be urging you to dance; dance to the music of the universe. And she will always be with you. Sending much love ❤️

Our world lost a wonderful human being. I have so many fond memories of our many travels but one stands out in particular. Puerto Vallarta, perhaps when it was still the Vallarta Palace. You and Kathy delivered, via wheelchair, iced coffees to the pool for me. The deliveries happened all morning followed by an afternoon of adult beverage deliveries - all in your wheelchair. You just seemed to love making those around you happy and your joy was contagious.
The sheer delight you showed every time we met was heartwarming. You touched so many and I for one will miss you immensely. We will take care of Kathy and hope she continues her travels. I promise to not make her repeat the delivery thing. In fact, I will deliver to her. She will be surrounded by all the love her Olivia family can muster.
Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again.

So many memories of Kitch and Kathy over these last 43+years. Kitch was a wonderful person to work with at Norwich Hospital. She loved her ladies on Lodge East 1 and treated all people with kindness and respect. She had a wonderful laugh and did so often. She loved to dance and nothing stopped her from doing so. It was always Kitch and Kathy or Kathy and Kitch. You have such a large family of friends old and new and always made everyone feel welcome. Love you both.
