Dear Mary Ann
It was our privilege to have you and Rudi to reacquaint with upon my return to Old Lyme. My dad was especially fond of Rudi’s steady and interesting character. I got to learn what that was about making fairy house displays with you both and getting his considered direction for details! Being part of Rudi’s entourage with the Art sales at the Congo’s White Elephant Sale was such fun. He will be missed by us all.

I first met Rudi when I was hired as Facilities Manager at the Florence Griswold Museum. Rudi served on the Buildings & Grounds Committee which I was asked to attend. I was happy to see a fellow Navy Man across the table from me, as I had just retired from 20 years Submarine Service.
Rudi always asked the right questions and time and again proved insightful in his observations and suggestions. A kind, modest and pragmatic man, I feel it was a rare privilege to have known and worked with him. Indeed, the world is a lesser place with him gone. He will be sorely missed by his family and his friends.
