OBITUARY
Alexander Blayne Hougrand
March 20, 1996 – January 16, 2019
Alexander Blayne Hougrand (a.k.a. Xander or Z), 22, of Ivoryton, CT passed away on January 16, 2019 in his home. He graduated from Valley Regional High School, class of 2014, and carried out his love of cooking by working in a variety of restaurants, the most recent being CHOW Food and Beverage in Clinton, CT. Zander had a passion for music and was a member of the Deep River Junior Ancient Fife and Drum Corp and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Zander was known as a bright light in peoples’ day, always singing and dancing and had an amazing smile. Zander was such a polite young man, sincere, with a sweet and caring soul. Alexander will be greatly missed by his parents: Scot B. Hougrand of Ivoryton, and Carol Gee of New Britain, his brother, Nathaniel Hougrand and wife Jessie Dorfler and their daughter, Brooklyn Hougrand of Ivoryton, and sister Sydney Crompton and husband Christopher Crompton of Manchester, England. He is also survived by his uncle, Robert Hougrand Jr. and wife Michelle Hougrand of Centerbrook, aunt and uncle, Rick and Pauline Mowry of Middletown, and cousins Ashley and RJ Lewis and son Julian of Brooklyn, NY, his grandfather, Robert Hougrand of Venice, FL, and his great grandmothers, Marjorie Hougrand of Venice, FL, and Gloria Mowry of Warwick, RI. Friends and family are invited to a Service in Alexander’s honor at the Deep River Congregational Church, 1 Church Street, Deep River, on January 26, 2019 at 11am.
