Anita Lorraine Gorman

Rubbo. She was predeceased by her sister, Janet Ott and her loving husband of 43 years, Edgar Gorman. She is remembered and loved by her children, Cindi Smith, Brian Kehlenbach (Pam), and Pamela Kehlenbach; her four grandchildren, Stefan Kehlenbach, Alyssa Kehlenbach, Austin Smith, and Sean Capalbo; her great grandchild, Aubrey Kehlenbach; her stepchildren Jill Bujnowski (Gray), Michael Gorman (Kathy Morgan-Gorman), Robbi D’Allessandro, and Stephen Gorman (Rebecca); her step grandchildren, Tara Gorman-Lally, Stephanie Goodwin, Kaitlyn Gorman, Olivia D’Allessandro, John D’Allessandro, Tanner Gorman, and Grace Gorman; and her step great grandchildren Grant, Morgan, Jack, and Kira. Anita graduated from Branford High School in 1951. Later in life, while raising her children, she returned to school to become a Registered Nurse, earning an A.S. degree in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport

in 1975 as well as a Master of Science degree from the University of Hartford. Much of her professional career was spent working as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) at Hartford Hospital. She headed the Diabetes Clinic for several years, providing compassionate counseling and support to her appreciative patients. When Anita retired to her beloved home in Old Saybrook with Edgar, she relished her life by the ocean, enjoying a rich social life with the Fenwood Beach Association. She and Edgar also became actively involved in the management of the Westbrook Food Pantry in selfless service to the needy along the Connecticut shoreline. Anita was a lifelong lover of classical music as well as a passionate rescuer of animals in need, with special loving affection for her loyal canine companion, Joey. A Funeral Mass will be held for Anita on October 3, 2026 at 11 am at St. Mark’s Church, located at 222 McVeagh Rd, Westbrook, CT 06498.
