Betty L. McDaniel

She was born on November 6, 1939 in Sanford, North Carolina and was the daughter of Ophelia (Snipes) McCallum and Edward McCallum. Betty also attended Cartiss Business School in Washington, DC before moving to Old Saybrook, Connecticut with her husband, Charlie (Billy) McDaniel to raise their family.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and listening to good music. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and of Old Saybrook. She was also an Eastern Star in good standing. She was also a former employee of RR Donnellys and Sons until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Charlie (Billy) McDaniel, daughter, Regina (Edward) Martin, sons, Reggie (Julie) McDaniel and Rodney McDaniel and his fiancee, Theresa Kmetz. Her grandchildren whom she loved dearly Chelsea, Darius and Edward Martin Jr, Kayla and Jaxon McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, Kendra Mendez, Shannon and Shante Kmetz. Her brother, Charles W. McCallum and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones..

Private Burial (Family Only) will be taking place at the State of Connecticut Veterans Cemetery located at 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT, Saturday November 14th at 12:00 Noon.

A celebration of life will be taking place on at the VFW located at 315 Essex Road, Old Saybrook, CT, following the burial at 1:00 pm.
