Bruce had a way with his silent little smiles and rosey red cheeks to make everyone feel at ease and make even physics class a welcomed adventure. That special way he had to put a grin on your face just wondering what was going through his mind with the glint in his eyes and wordless smirks was priceless.  Just knowing the world had him here on the planet, even now more than forty years later, still brings a smile to my face knowing that even for a short time, having a great stand up Bruce Forbes on the planet, we know there must be a God. I think last we saw each other was a summer at Old Saybrook Fish House during college breaks, but he always has a special place in so many hearts including mine. On my first day, he was so welcoming, asking me to sit next to him in Physics as a new student in the senior year. My heartfelt condolences to his family, Jen Thomas

My heart breaks. Such a sweet guy. From childhood to adulthood he had a kind sweet smile that I’ll always remember. Sending love and prayers to his mom, sister, and rest of the family. ❤️

Bruce became a colleague and friend 28 years ago.  We stayed in contact over the decades, often reminiscing about the funny stories that occurred at work those many years ago. I last spoke with Bruce on 12-7-24 and tried to reach out to him in February. I wish I could hear him laugh just one more time. It was my privilege to know Bruce and to be his friend. I will miss him dearly and my heart is heavy. Condolences to his family.

I've not talked to Bruce, or, "Buck" as I called him, in 40 years.  But for a few years before that, he was a big deal to me.  And a big deal to my sister.  Bruce was my Pro Wrestling Partner In Crime.  I'll never forget going with him to the New Haven Coliseum,   It's where he taught me a lesson I still carry today:  Keep Your Wallet In Your Front Pocket.

As member of OSSHS Class of '80 (who occasionally hung out in Meadowood) – fondly recall Gus (Class of '81) as great + happy-go-lucky kid – always greeting with a big, genuine smile.
