Carl F. Piontkowski of Boscawen, NH and a longtime resident of Old Saybrook, CT died suddenly on Friday, September 27th. He was 82.
Mr. Piontkowski was born August 30th, 1931, in Old Saybrook, CT. He was the son of the late Fredrick and Bertha (Kruck) Piontkowski.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, drafted in the United States Army as a Private and honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant. An entrepreneur and inventor, he was an owner of multiple companies, including C&D Distributors, Inc., and held titles of six patents, most notably a catalytic wood stove, a combustor unit for a wood burning stove and a log lifting apparatus. He was a member of the Elks Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Carl F. Piontkowski is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosalie Jean (Moscarillo) Piontkowski; four sons, Carl Brian Piontkowski of Laconia, NH; Paul Kevin Piontkowski of Alexandria, VA; Mark Edward Piontkowski of Old Saybrook, CT; John Fredrick Piontkowski of New Canaan, CT; a daughter, Wendy Anne Kazel of Las Vegas, NV; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Fredrick Piontkowski; one sister, Florence Baron; and a second sister, Connie Murry, who predeceased him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, CT. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 4th at 11 a.m. at St John’s Church, 161 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT.
