Carol Ann Marino
May 27, 1948 – July 15, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Ann Marino announce her passing on July 15th, 2012. Carol, 64, was born on May 27th, 1948 in Berlin, CT, to Elmer and Mary (Falcetti) Valeggia. She graduated from Berlin High School and was a Principal and Co-Founder of Lady Katharine Cruises.
Carol and her family pursued Carol’s zest for life and travel by actively boating to Block Island, snowmobiling in New York, spending parts of the year in South Florida and Lake George, touring the country in a motor home and her 2011 trip to Paris with her daughter and granddaughter. Carol brought her joy for travel and love of great friendships to her professional life at Lady Katharine Cruises. Her personal interests included interior decorating, watercolor painting, making jewelry and unique seashell home accessories and spending time at the beach with her grandchildren. Carol is lovingly remembered by her husband Ken Marino of Old Saybrook; her mother Mary Valeggia of Wethersfield; her daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Rob Kessel and three grandchildren, Kira, Kaden and Kai of Mill Valley, CA. The family would like to thank all of the to staff at Connecticut Oncology Group and especially Dr. Robert Levy, Middlesex Hospital 4th Floor South and Hospice and Connecticut Hospice. Calling hours will be held tonight (Wednesday) at Swan Funeral Home, 1225 Boston Post Road in Old Saybrook. A funeral of Christian burial will be held at Christ the King Church, 1 McCurdy Rd. in Old Lyme on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., interment at Riverside Cemetery.
