Cornelia D Smith

Cornelia "Connie" D. Smith, 92, of Westbrook, formerly of North Canaan, passed away on November 19, 2011. Connie was born in Bristol, on June 13, 1919 to the late George and Fannie (Ford) Dawe. Besides her parents, Connie was predeceased by her loving husband Harold F. Smith Sr.; son Harold F. Smith Jr.; and sister Virginia D. Coughlin. She is survived by her daughter Sarah L. Smith and her husband David Sermersheim of Killingworth; son Peter W. Smith and his wife Claire of Westbrook; son Jay B. Smith of Guilford; grandchildren Megan E. Smith, Caitlin N. Smith, Sarah Charlotte Smith, Anne L. Smith, and Hayley C. Smith; and brother George Lyman Dawe of Illinois. Connie will also be missed by her friend and caregiver for many years Anella Brilinkeviciene as well as her daughter in law Donna P. Smith.

A funeral service will take place at The First Congregational Church of Westbrook on Tuesday, November 22 at 10 a.m. followed by a short reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Ashley Falls Cemetery in Sheffield, MA. Swan Funeral Home is charged with arrangements.
