Daniel G. Main

He was born in Preston, on November 11, 1959. Dan is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Joann (Slater) Main, and brother William Main. Dan is survived by his sister Shirley Main, and his beloved dog, Bear.

Dan worked at the Town of East Lyme Transfer Station, where he is deeply missed by coworkers and customers. Anyone who knew Dan knew how dependable of a friend he was, if you had a problem, Dan was there to help, he was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. Dan’s loyal and honest spirit will never be forgotten, as friends and family honor him by remembering the exciting moments they shared with Dan. Dan was hardworking, and enjoyed spending time with close friends, with his cherished dog always riding in his passenger seat.

A funeral service will be held from 2pm - 5pm on Saturday, March 12th at the Swan Funeral Home 1224 Boston Post Rd, Old Saybrook, CT 06475.

In lieu of memorial donations in Dan’s memory, contributions may be made to Daniel’s GoFundMe page to support the cause in honoring Dan. Donations will help cover the memorial services, and any excess money will be donated to one of Dan’s favorite charities, The Humane Society, and a memorial bench will be placed at The Central Bark Dog Park in Groton, CT, in the Spring of 2022.
