

Donald Frolander, 90, our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo after a long and full life. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn E. Frolander. He was predeceased by his parents Pete and Zella Frolander, his brothers Peter and Bud and survived by his sister Margie Block. He is survived back in CT by his daughter Carol Smith, Linda Garhmann and was predeceased by his daughter Dale Breslin. He is also survived by his four step- children Frank, Anthony, Kathy and Art Perry. Donald was a wonderful Grandpa to his 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. He grew up in Warroad and graduated from Warroad High School where he played on the hockey team. He served in WWII in the Coast Guard in Old Saybrook, CT. He was a Deacon in the First Baptist Church in Essex, a member of the Elks and served as an active member of the Trinity Mount Olive Lodge as a Mason for 55 years. He loved to spend a couple weeks every summer back in Warroad to visit Pine Acres and Frolander’s camp. A memorial service will be held November 9 at Swan Funeral Home 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook at 1:00pm. Family and friends may visit the funeral home from 11am until the time of service.
