

Florence (Junie) Farnham Lewis, 93, of Old Saybrook and more than 80 year resident of the Borough of Fenwick, passed away on November 25, 2012. Born in New Britain, Connecticut on January 23,1919 to Clinton and Florence (Sprague) Farnham, Junie served as a US Navy Wave during WWII where she met her future husband, Roland (Ash) Ashley Lewis who preceded her in death. Junie is survived by her daughter Gratia F Lewis, and her grand-daughter Melissa S Lewis, both of Old Saybrook. As an avid golfer, Junie won the Gengras Cup at Fenwick and the Super Senior Cup at the Old Lyme Country Club where she and Ash were members. During her 80 years in Old Saybrook, Junie was an active member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Old Saybrook, serving as Chairman of the Building Committee, and as an active member and once President of the Old Saybrook Historical Society. The Lewis Family extends a special thanks to the entire staff and caregivers at Aaron Manor in Chester for their always thoughtful and compassionate care. Burial in Cypress Cemetery, Old Saybrook will be held privately. Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook is handling the arrangements.
