Frieda Therese Gorra

Frieda T. Gorra, age 89, of Old Saybrook, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished above all else.

Born on December 15, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, Frieda was the second of eight children. Growing up in a bustling household shaped her into a woman of incredible strength and character.

After graduating from Fort Hamilton High School and Wesley College, she eventually shared 37 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Nicholas N. Gorra, until his untimely passing on October 31, 2000.

Frieda was the embodiment of style and elegance. Whether she was hosting a gathering or moving through her community in Old Saybrook, she carried herself with a grace that was matched only by her generous spirit. Her devotion to her family, friends, and community was unwavering.

Her legacy lives on through her beloved sons Nicholas, Marc, and Peter; her devoted siblings George, Claire, Lorraine, Renée, and Vivienne; and her six grandchildren.

Frieda’s presence was a gift, and while she will be sorely missed, her elegance and devotion will never be forgotten.
