Gerard R. Routhier

ROUTHIER, GERARD R. Gerard R. Routhier, 86, of Westbrook, passed away at St. Raphael's Hospital on Friday, August 16, 2013. Born in Fall River, MA on October 10, 1926, the son of the late Jean-Baptiste and Bernadette P. (Carrier) Routhier. Gerard leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Marguerite (St. Martin) Routhier, his two sons Gerard A. Routhier of Westbrook, Shawn A. Routhier of San Jose, CA; two daughters Kathleen M. Lahn and her husband Steven of West Haven and Renee A. Routhier of Deep River; and his granddaughter Carissa M. Lahn of West Haven and his brother Armand Routhier.

A veteran of WWII, Gerard served in the Navy being honorably discharged in 1946. He worked at Stanley Bostitch in Clinton for over 35 years before his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and reading his newspaper. He will be missed by all who knew him. He loved his faith, family, especially the "Princess," and his friends. He enjoyed reading, music, spirited debates, Bailey's and a nice cold beer.

Calling hours will be at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Westbrook on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 10:30am - 12noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow.
