Jeannine R. Martino

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Michel, their 6 children, and12 grandchildren

She was born in Putman CT on October 29, 1929, daughter of the late Adelard and Pharailde Morissette Richard.

She met her future husband while on a fellowship to the University of Conn. Jeannine and Mike lived in several small CT towns before settling for the last 54 years in Old Saybrook. She was a talented mathematician who taught in the Old Saybrook School system for many years and before that at St Johns School. In between teaching, she worked at the town hall as the bookkeeper.

Jeannine will be remembered for her love, compassion and generous nature which extended well beyond her own family and friends to include her children’s and grandchildren’s friends and family.

Besides her many children and grandchildren, she is also survived by her beloved brother Lucien, his wife Ronnie and several nieces and nephews.

Her humor, strength and courage will be greatly missed. Funeral Service will be Monday January 16, 2012 11:am in St. John’s Church Main Street Old Saybrook.The Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to, Middlesex Hospital Hospice Care, or the Humane Society.
