John T. Hughes

John was born on December 11, 1944 in San Marcos, Texas, the son of the late John T. Hughes and Joan (McGoldrick) Hughes. He was predeceased by his brother, Garrett, in 1974.

John spent his successful career in executive sales and his work ethic and outstanding reputation were widely recognized in the paperboard industry. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed the Yankees and the Giants, Uconn Basketball, golf, reading, and spending time with his family and friends.

John is survived by his three loving children, Kelly (James) Keravich, Kristin (Mark) Leopoldino, and Jason Hughes. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Morgan and Avery Leopoldino.

Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, June 18, at Swan Funeral Home in Old Saybrook from 4pm until 6pm with a prayer service beginning promptly at 4:30pm. Burial will be private.
