Kimberly “Kim” Ann Whinnem, ne Kimberly Ann (Terray, Jensen) 66, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Kimberly was born May 19, 1957 in Middletown, CT to the late Dr. Daniel M. Terray and Elizabeth Shuttleworth Terray.
A graduate of Old Saybrook Senior High School, class of 1975, Kim went on to earn a degree from The Monserrat School of Visual Art in Beverly, MA in 1979.
Kim spent many happy years working in advertising and marketing at G. Fox and Company, Crafts and More (Ames) and Amerifit Nutrition. In more recent years, she spent her days painting. She enjoyed her gardens and was a bird enthusiast. She loved watching the wildlife in her backyard.
She was a loving wife, sister, stepmother, aunt, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kim is survived by her loving husband, Richard (Rick) Whinnem of Bloomfield, CT; her stepchildren, Jesse and Jordan Whinnem, of Libby, MT, Liz Whinnem of Enfield, CT and Sarah Whinnem of Queens, NY; grandchildren Lilian and Josephine Whinnem of Libby, MT; siblings Laurie Terray Sizemore and Dr. R. Kim was blessed with many caring friends and neighbors. There are too many to mention here, although she would wish for us to mention the affection she held for her special friend Monique Pasqualini. She held fondness for the Jensen family and cousins and gratitude for the wonderful cancer support staff at Saint Francis Hospital.
Kim is predeceased by her parents, her sister-in-law Corinne Whinnem Baron and her first husband Peter C. Jensen.
